Long before they became leaders in Florida’s health care community, Dr. Tariq J. Khan and Dr. Jaffer J. Khan emigrated from Pakistan with little more than hope and determination. Through tireless study, unwavering integrity, upholding the highest ethical standards, and a commitment to service, they built not only their own medical careers but a legacy that spans two generations of physicians and health-care providers dedicated to improving lives.

Today, their children, siblings, spouses, and the families they’ve supported and loved are all forever connected by the sacrifices, devotion, and pioneering contributions these brothers have made to the health-care industry.

The Center of Surgical Excellence

The Center of Surgical Excellence, owned and operated by two local, board-certified gastroenterologists accredited by the American Board of Gastroenterology, was envisioned in 2006 when Dr. Tariq J. Khan realized that growing family responsibilities called for a change. He moved from New Jersey, where he and his brother Dr. Jaffer J. Khan had practiced together since 1990, to South Florida to accept the role of Medical Director at Venice Regional Hospital. Shortly thereafter Dr. Jaffer J. Khan joined him and together they recognized that patients in Venice and the surrounding communities deserved a truly patient-centered gastroenterology practice with an advanced ambulatory surgical center designed to deliver a seamless GI experience, subsequently they founded the Gastroenterology Associates of Venice and Englewood.

Today the CSE is AAAHC certified, participates in Medicare, and accepts all major insurance plans including BCBS, Aetna, Humana, and UnitedHealthcare. Situated at the intersection of Jacaranda and Placida Road, we proudly serve Venice, Engleowod, Wellen Park, Port Charlotte, and beyond, providing expert care for all your digestive health needs.
